We have done the deep dive into the dating app industry and have been disgusted by what we found. Sure, they do have a few good things but those good things are very difficult to use to their potential due to the large amount of fake profiles, people hiding behind a screen, and their lack of disclosure.
It's appalling that this is allowed by any company but a dating app company is selling customer information to data brokers who want to sell you what you don't need. We are adamantly opposed to this practice. This is why we do not collect identifying information and the little bit of information we do collect does not go anywhere, we value your privacy.
They all claim to have "special algorithms" that will help you find the special person you are looking for. The problem that we have is that it's never been proven to be true so we interpret this as unethical consumer misleading.
We were stunned when we found out that the average is 65% of the users on the dating apps are ghosted at least once per month. This is a lot of people who are wasting their time. Sure, we are not able to control other people but there is very little protection against it and they do not disclose this to help people be aware that this is a problem that a lot of their users deal with.
It is our opinion that by providing a service, there should be education on how to protect customer privacy, help for customers or potential customers to navigate their product in a safe way and to keep customers from wasting their time.
These dating apps are offering "access" to other singles and you have the option to message them and get to know them, that's exactly what they are selling. The problem with this is, looking at a profile leaves a lot of necessary elements out. Those things that makes each of us different. Tone of voice, expression, body language, these elements are necessary to find chemistry. Chemistry is what draws people together and makes them want to know someone better.
This is why we do virtual live events. Seeing someone interacting gives a different perspective, a much clearer perspective which is part of the chemistry which draws someone to another.
Sadly, the dating apps don't show sincerity in their desire to help customers find what they are looking for. We believe that without this sincerity, there is a greater distance between vehicle (the dating platform) and the customer.
They do not value your privacy
